Cartwright Hands are an estate agent and lettings management company in the West Midlands. Everything in their process was manual, every day was costing them time, and no product on the market offered what they needed. I built Protal, a bespoke portal that manages the entire lettings process from start to finish.
Manual work is costly, time-consuming, and full of opportunity for human error. The team were handling landlords, tenancies, compliance certificates, and document signing entirely by hand. They wanted as much automated as possible, brought together in a single place.
This was a large project, and I wanted to deliver value quickly rather than all at the end. I broke the build into phases with clear milestones, each shipping a defined set of features. That way the team were seeing productivity gains throughout the project instead of waiting on one final release.
By the end of the project, the entire lettings management process ran through a clean, accessible portal. Staff automated the time-consuming parts of their workflow, had clear visibility over every tenancy's progress, and received automatic alerts for compliance issues like expiring certificates. Tenants could e-sign all their documents in minutes.
