Website Design
The most important part of your business in the modern world
A websites primary job is to provide the information a customer is looking for and turn those customers into enquiries. It’s one of the biggest adverts for your business in the modern world. Plenty of sites look smart, but don’t give the customer what they’re looking for easily or quickly enough! We design and build websites that load quickly, easy to read and get your customers where they want to be as fast as possible.
Most business websites are either a template or a page builder that’s slow to load due to off the shelf plugins that aren’t really needed. Full of bloatware. The websites are often created and then left to rot, with no real consideration for actually building your brand and visibility in search engines and ChatGPT or the like. We build websites designed from scratch, with your brand and business at the forefront of any plan we develop.
Speed and search aren’t extra we just bolt on at the end. It doesn’t work. A site that loads slowly loses visitors before the page has even loaded! We don’t build sites that break like that, because we care about the sites we develop and the clients we have.
Marketing & brochure sites
The site that does your selling while you're asleep: clear on what you do, who it's for, and why you're the perfect choice. Structured so a visitor gets to 'these are the right people' in seconds rather than scrolling through a wall of text trying to work out what you actually offer.
Custom design, no templates
Designed around your brand and your customers, not a theme thousands of other businesses are also running. It's your business and your reputation on the line; the site should look, read and feel like your brand, and stand apart from your competitors rather than blending into them.
Fast, hand-built front-ends
Built by hand rather than assembled from a stack of plugins, so the site stays quick and stable. Slow sites lose visitors before the page even finishes loading, and search engines are watching those statistics! We build for Core Web Vitals from the start rather than trying to claw speed back afterwards.
Editable through a CMS
You shouldn't have to email a developer to change a headline or add a page. We almost always build on a content management system your team can actually use, so day-to-day edits are yours, and we handle the structural changes when you need them.
Built to be found
Clean structure, sensible URLs, fast pages, and proper technical foundations so the site can rank rather than fighting Google from behind. If you also want an active search engine optimisation programme on top, that's our SEO service; this is making sure the build itself isn't holding you back.
Accessible & mobile-first
Most of your visitors are on a phone, and some are using a screen reader or a keyboard. We build to WCAG accessibility standards and design mobile-first, so the site works properly for everyone rather than just looking 'right' on the developers laptop.
Scope & design
We work out who the site is for, understand your brand, and the handful of things a visitor must understand fast. Then we design it around that, so structure and layout earn their place rather than following a template.
Build
Hand-built in phases with clear milestones, tested on real devices, with speed, search foundations, and accessibility baked in as we go, rather than checked off at the end. You'll see it taking shape well before launch.
Launch & look after
We handle the launch, the redirects, and the technical bits that go wrong when a site moves, then stay on as the people who know how it's built. Ongoing changes, new pages, and someone to call when something needs doing.

We haven't put a website case study page up yet, so we won't sit invented numbers next to this. What we can tell you is the shape of it: we've been building software and interfaces for over a decade across healthcare, fintech, logistics, and consumer, the sites we build are hand-coded to stay fast rather than assembled from plugins, and the businesses we build for are still ones we look after. If you'd like to see recent work or speak to someone we've built for before committing, ask and we'll arrange it.
How is this different from Wix, Squarespace, or a template?+
Templates are generally fine for some small businesses, and that's completely fine. Understanding why a website needs to be designed in such a way, is where we come in. Taking your business to the next step is difficult, and with so much information out there on what's right and wrong, a lot of business owners just want experts to handle it for them so they can focus on the business. The difference shows up when you want something that doesn't fit the template, when speed and search really matter to how you get customers, or when you're tired of a site that looks like a dozen competitors'. A custom build is designed around your brand, and how you actually win work, and it isn't fighting a page builder every time you want a change.
An off the shelf CMS or a custom build - which do we need?+
It depends on who's editing it and what it has to do. For a content-heavy site a marketing team updates daily, a well-built CMS is often the right answer. For something that needs to be genuinely fast, do something unusual, or connect to your other systems, a hand-built front-end pays off. We'll tell you which camp you're in during the initial project scoping rather than defaulting to whatever we prefer writing.
Will we be able to edit the site ourselves?+
Yes, in most cases you will be able to, to a certain extent. We tend to build on a content management system so your team can change text, swap images, add pages, or update prices without coming back to us. We're here for the bigger structural changes, but the day-to-day is yours. Feeling locked out of your own website is exactly the situation we're trying to save you from.
How does this connect to getting found on Google?+
It connects directly. A slow site or a messy and poor structure holds back rankings no matter how good the content is, so we build fast, clean, and crawlable from the start. That gives you solid foundations. If you want active, ongoing work to climb for specific terms, then you can also check out our SEO service, and because the same team does both, the two aren't pulling in different directions.
Can you redesign our existing site without losing our rankings?+
Yes, but it needs to be done very carefully, because a redesign done without a plan is one of the quickest ways to tank the traffic you've built up over the years. We map your existing URLs, set up proper redirects, and preserve the pages search engines already trust. We'll walk you through the risks before anything goes live rather than crossing our fingers and hitting the big red launch button on launch day.
Do you handle the words and images too?+
We'll shape the structure and tell you what each page needs to say to do its job, and we can write it with you or work from copy you provide. For images, we'll use what you have, guide you on what to get, and sort out sourcing where needed. A beautiful site wrapped around vague copy still won't sell, so this part matters more than it's usually given credit for.
How long does a website take, and what does it cost?+
A focused marketing site is usually a matter of weeks; something larger with a lot of pages, a CMS, or integrations takes longer. Cost depends on scope as with all of our services; how many pages and templates, how much custom design work is needed, and whether it connects to any dependencies. You'll get a real figure with the costs outlined and the relevant risks before you commit, and if a simpler option would serve you better, we'll say so.
What happens after the site launches?+
Most people want us to stay on, to manage the website and host the website for them, and that's the arrangement we prefer too; updates, new pages, fixes, and keeping the new investment fast and secure as it grows. A website isn't a one-off purchase that looks after itself. If you'd rather run it yourself you can, you own it outright, and we'll still be at the end of the phone if you need a hand.
