Airwaves Facilities Management

Airwaves Facilities Management have been keeping commercial, industrial, and public-sector buildings running across the UK for over 15 years. Their website hadn't kept up. It was slow, it didn't stand out, and it said very little about the scale of work they actually do. We designed and built them a new one from scratch. We also built the AI agent that handles their inbound job processing, which has a case study of its own.

The challenge

Airwaves' old site was built on WordPress, and it was showing its age. Pages were slow to load, the design wasn't particularly eye-catching, and the content lacked the detail and depth a business of their size needed. Someone landing on it had no real way of telling that this was a company with 15 years of experience and a nationwide operation.

That mattered, because Airwaves wanted to push their web presence and go after bigger contracts. Larger commercial and public-sector clients do their homework before they pick up the phone; they want to see accreditations, the kind of work you've done, and who you've done it for. Airwaves had 15 years of completed jobs to show for themselves, and almost none of it was on the website.

The old site did have one thing worth keeping: search rankings built up over years. Starting again from a blank slate would have thrown those away, so whatever we built had to take them with it.

Our approach

We started with who the site was really for; facilities and procurement managers deciding whether Airwaves were big enough and reliable enough to trust with their buildings. The design was built from scratch around the Airwaves brand, with the things those buyers look for first, like accreditations, nationwide coverage, 24/7 response, and a clear way to request a quote, right at the front.

Airwaves cover a wide range of soft and hard services, from cleaning and grounds maintenance to roofing and electrical work. Rather than cramming all of that onto one page, we gave every service its own page within a clear soft and hard services structure. A visitor looking for one thing finds it quickly, and each service can be found in search on its own merits.

Case studies were given a proper home, so 15 years of finished work finally does some of the selling. The site runs on a CMS, so the Airwaves team can add new case studies and keep their content up to date themselves, without needing to come back to us every time.

The site is built from scratch rather than assembled from a theme and a stack of plugins, so it stays fast. For the move itself, we mapped the old URLs to the new ones, set up the redirects, and kept the existing image paths from the old site in place, so the rankings Airwaves had already earned weren't reset on launch day.

The outcome

Airwaves now have a website that looks like the business they are. It's fast, it's optimised for search from the ground up, and it puts their track record in front of the buyers they want to win. Their team keep it up to date themselves, adding case studies as jobs are completed.

The site has only just launched, so we're not going to put numbers here yet. We'll update this case study with real figures once there's been enough time for them to mean something.
