Knights Events, a Coventry-based crew provider, replaced a manual phone-and-email booking process with the mobile app I built them, saving four hours per person, per day.
Read the Knights Events case study →Coventry's economy still carries its manufacturing and mobility heritage: the city helped invent the UK car industry, and that engineering DNA runs through the automotive, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing firms still based here today. Two universities, Coventry University and the University of Warwick on the city's doorstep, keep a steady flow of graduate talent and applied research moving into local businesses.
Around Friargate and the city centre, a growing base of professional services, logistics, and technology firms sits alongside that industrial core, and City of Culture-era investment has reshaped much of the centre. It's a practical, unpretentious business city, and the software gets built accordingly: for teams that want something that works, not something that just demos well.
Being based in Coventry means I can sit down with you when it helps, and I understand the business landscape you're working in. There's exactly one person to call about your project, and my name is on it, so my reputation in this region depends on getting it right.
Do you only work with Coventry-based businesses?+
No. I'm based in Coventry and it's where most of my client relationships start, but I work with teams across the West Midlands and further afield. Being local just means I can come and see you when it helps.
What kind of software do you build?+
Custom web apps, mobile apps, SaaS platforms, and AI agents and automations. If a manual process is costing your team time, that's usually where I start.
Am I working with you directly, or with a team?+
Directly with me. Abyss is one person: I do the scoping, the design, and the engineering, and I'm the one who answers when you call. There's no account manager and nothing gets passed to someone you've never met.
How quickly can you start a project?+
It depends on scope, but I typically start scoping within a week of an initial conversation and keep projects moving in phases, so you see progress early rather than waiting for one big release. I only take on two projects at a time, so if I'm booked up I'll tell you honestly rather than overcommit.
Can we meet in person before committing to a project?+
Yes, and I'd encourage it. Being Coventry-based makes an in-person meeting straightforward for local businesses, and I'm happy to do an initial call either way.
How long has Abyss been operating in the West Midlands?+
Over 10 years. In that time I've built software across just about every shape a project can take, from healthcare and fintech to logistics and consumer products, for businesses across Coventry and the wider West Midlands.
